SC: Ex-Contract Workers Must Be Preferred When Employers Replace Contract Labour With Regular Staff - (29 Jan 2026)

The court outlined the modes and methods for re-employing workers where the discontinuation of the labour contract is valid: "If the principal employer intends to employ regular workmen for the work previously done by contract labour, they must give preference to the erstwhile contract labourers."
