International experts including securities market regulators from other countries would be addressing participants in this year's edition of SEBI-NISM Research Conference. The theme of the second SEBI-NISM Research Conference, to be held in a webinar mode from February 25-26, 2021, is "Behaviour of Securities Markets-Sighting of a Black Swan".

More than 16 research papers are expected to be presented during the conference. The topics for various sessions are:

Response of Securities Markets, Investors and Corporates to Black Swan Events

Impact of Technology on Economy and Markets during COVID19

Impact of Black Swan Events on Asset Classes

Market Structure, Market Dynamics

The sessions will have presentation of research papers followed by one-on-one sessions with leading academicians / practitioners and Q&A with the audience.

The eminent personalities who will be participating in this conference include-Mr. Ashley Ian Alder, CEO, SFC, Hong Kong; Mr. Siddharth Tiwari, Chief Representative for Asia and Pacific, Bank for International Settlements; Dr. S.P. Kothari, Former Chief Economist and Director DERA, SEC, USA and Dr. Suraj Srinivasan from Harvard Business School. These sessions will be anchored by Mr. Sharad Sharma, Co-founder iSPlRT Foundation; Mr. Nehal Vora, MD & CEO, CDSL; Ms. Madhabi Puri Buch, Whole Time Member, SEBI and Mr. Amarjeet Singh, Executive Director, SEBI.

The registration for the conference will open from February 15, 2021. The registration is free of cost.

SEBI, in collaboration with National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM), began organizing Annual Research Conferences in the year 2020, with the aim of encouraging research in securities markets and facilitating industry-academia interaction. The first conference was held in January 2020, with the theme of 'Changing Landscape of Securities Market in India' and was widely attended by policy makers, academicians, researchers, students and industry participants.
