Madras High Court Irks over Increasing Problem of Illegal Sewer Connections in State - (12 Oct 2015)

Madras HC on a PIL by NGO Change India in connection with prevention of manual scavenging, has ordered Tamil Nadu Government to ensure creation of a graded penalty mechanism to deal with illegal sewer connections, where penalties vary from Rs. 5,000 to a couple of lakh of rupees.
