Supreme Court Upholds Constitutional Vires of Maharashtra VAT Act - (16 May 2017)

Supreme Court, reiterating the settled proposition that Legislature has power to enact prospectively as well as retrospectively, has upheld a Bombay HC judgment which had dismissed challenge against constitutional validity of Maharashtra Value Added Tax (Levy, Amendment and Validation) Act, 2009.
