CCPA Imposes Rs. 1 Lakh Penalty on Britannia Over Misleading ‘100% Whole Wheat Bread’ Claim - (24 Oct 2026)

Central Consumer Protection Authority fined Britannia Industries Rs. 1 lakh for misleadingly marketing bread containing only 62% whole wheat flour as “100% Whole Wheat Bread.” It held that the packaging and advertisements falsely suggested the product was made entirely from whole wheat flour.
