Kerala High Court Quashes Guideline Restricting Production of Arrested Persons After 5 PM - (24 Oct 2026)

CONSTITUTION

Kerala High Court struck down State guidelines preferring production of arrested persons before Judicial Officers between 10 AM and 5 PM. Allowing a PIL, it held that restricting post-5 PM production to exceptional cases was legally and constitutionally unsustainable.
