Supreme Court Directs Centre to Promote Interim Compensation Scheme for Road Accident Victims - (21 Oct 2026)

MOTOR VEHICLES

Supreme Court directed the Centre to widely publicise the 2026 Interim Compensation Scheme for road accident victims and clarify whether its benefits extend to accidents involving uninsured vehicles, noting concerns that the scheme may currently apply only to insured vehicles.
