J&K&L High Court: Adult Woman Marrying by Choice Cannot Be Forced to Return to Parents - (13 Oct 2026)

CONSTITUTION

J&K and Ladakh High Court held that habeas corpus cannot compel an adult woman to live with her parents when no illegal detention exists. An adult’s voluntary choice to reside with her husband must be respected and cannot be overridden merely at a parent’s request.
