Calcutta HC: Insurer Must Compensate Child’s Accidental Death Despite Driver’s Fake Licence - (01 Oct 2026)

MOTOR VEHICLES

Calcutta High Court enhanced compensation for the accidental death of a five-and-a-half-year-old girl from Rs. 3.49 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh, holding that the amended Second Schedule to the Motor Vehicles Act applied to the pending claim.
