SC: Interest Continues if Award-Holder Cannot Freely Withdraw Conditional Deposit - (21 Sep 2026)

ARBITRATION

Supreme Court held that depositing an arbitral award amount in court does not by itself stop interest. Interest ceases only when the deposit complies with Order XXI Rule 1 CPC and the award-holder can withdraw the amount unconditionally.
