Kerala HC: Courts can't Insist on Identifying Unknown Parties in John Doe Suits - (17 Sep 2026)

Kerala High Court has urged trial courts to adopt a progressive approach in John Doe or Ashok Kumar suits and not insist on identifying unknown defendants at the outset. Such suits allow plaintiffs to proceed against unidentified wrongdoers who may be identified and impleaded later.
