SC: Grant of Fishing Rights by Deed is a Transfer of Immovable Property, Qualifies as Lease - (16 Sep 2026)

PROPERTY

Supreme Court held that fishing rights granted for over a year require registration and stamp duty. It ruled that the right to catch and remove fish is profit à prendre, a benefit arising from land, and therefore constitutes immovable property.
