SC: Electricity Dues over 2 Years Recoverable only if Shown Continuously as Outstanding - (14 Sep 2026)

ELECTRICITY

Supreme Court held that electricity dues should ordinarily be billed within two years of consumption. Recovery beyond this period is permissible only if the amount was continuously shown as recoverable arrears. It dismissed DVVNL’s appeal seeking Rs. 57.74 lakh in MCGC dues.
