Gujarat HC: Complaint Made in Good Faith does not Amount to Defamation - (14 Sep 2026)

CRIMINAL

Gujarat High Court held that a good-faith complaint to police alleging a criminal act does not amount to defamation where police have lawful authority over the accusation. Such complaints are protected under Section 356 BNS and Section 500 IPC.
