Allahabad HC: Custodial Violence and Molestation Are Crimes, Not Police Duty - (11 Sep 2026)

Allahabad High Court upheld the rejection of discharge pleas by police personnel accused of custodial assault and molestation. It held that such acts cannot be treated as part of official duty and amount to crimes, noting allegations of victims being tied and repeatedly beaten in custody.
