Tripura HC: Police Report Not Contemplated By Rules Alone Cannot Be Basis to Deny Premature Release - (09 Sep 2026)

CRIMINAL

Tripura High Court set aside the denial of premature release to seven convicts who had served 15–21 years, holding that a Police Verification Report could not be relied upon when the State’s 2025 rules governing premature release did not require such a report.
