SC: Gujarat Prohibition Act Does not Bar Interim Seized Vehicle Release - (03 Sep 2026)

CRIMINAL

Supreme Court held that Section 98(2) of the Gujarat Prohibition Act does not impose an absolute bar on interim release of seized vehicles pending trial, even where liquor exceeds the prescribed limit, and ordered release of the truck on furnishing security.
