CCPA Fines Rs. 1 Lakh Penalty on United Biscuits over Misleading ‘Wholewheat’ Claims - (31 Aug 2026)

CONSUMER

CCPA fined United Biscuits Rs. 1 lakh for misleadingly marketing McVitie’s Marie as “Wholewheat”. It found the claim deceptive as the biscuits contained only 19.5% whole wheat flour, compared with 52% refined wheat flour (maida).
