Supreme Court: Specific Performance of an Agreement to Sell May be Denied After a Long Delay - (04 Aug 2026)

CIVIL

SC has ruled that specific performance of agreement to sell is not automatic and may be denied if the purchaser fails to continuously prove readiness and willingness to perform the contract. The Court added that long delay in adjudication is also a relevant factor in refusing such equitable relief.
