Supreme Court: Courts May Grant Lesser Relief under Order VII Rule 7 CPC, But Not a Different Claim - (30 Jul 2026)

Supreme Court held that Order VII Rule 7 CPC allows courts to grant a lesser or alternative relief arising from the pleaded and proved facts, but cannot be used to award partition in a title declaration suit, as it rests on a separate cause of action requiring an independent factual basis.
