Supreme Court: Murder Inside a Vehicle Does Not Qualify For Motor Accident Compensation - (23 Jul 2026)

MOTOR VEHICLES

Supreme Court held that the mere involvement of a motor vehicle in events leading to a person's death does not entitle claimants to compensation under the Motor Vehicles Act. Compensation is payable only when there is a clear and direct nexus between the vehicle's use and the death.
