Calcutta High Court: Child Marriage Allegation Alone Cannot Justify Ordering a POCSO FIR - (23 Jul 2026)

Calcutta High Court held that a divorce court hearing a mutual consent petition under Section 13B of the Hindu Marriage Act cannot direct registration of a POCSO case. It set aside a trial court order that dismissed the divorce plea over alleged child marriage and ordered a POCSO FIR.
