SC Issues Notice to Rajasthan in Panchayati Raj Case - (28 Jul 2016)

SC has issued notice to Rajasthan Govt. on constitutional validity of legislation fixing minimum qualification for contesting panchayat elections in the State, which has brought back focus on right of rural population, especially women, to participate in democratic process at the grassroots.
