Delhi HC Urges Law to Regulate Media, Notes Anyone with a Mobile Phone Can Claim to be a Journalist - (17 Jul 2026)

MEDIA AND COMMUNICATION

Delhi HC observed that press freedom cannot protect irresponsible journalism or conduct affecting public order. Noting that anyone with a mobile phone can claim to be a journalist without accountability, it urged enactment of a legal framework to regulate the media while safeguarding press freedom.
