Cal HC: BSF Cannot Deny DIG Rank to an Officer Injured in 1995 Road Accident After Earlier Promotion - (17 Jul 2026)

DEFENCE

Calcutta HC held that the BSF cannot refuse promotion to the post of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) on the basis of an officer's medical category when the same injury had not barred his advancement to higher ranks in three previous promotions after the 1995 road accident.
