Supreme Court: Landowners Cannot Claim Denial of Hearing After Failing to Avail the Opportunity - (16 Jul 2026)

LAND ACQUISITION

Supreme Court dismissed landowners' appeals against land acquisition for the Jaipur Metro Rail Project, holding that they abandoned their right to a hearing under Section 5A of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 by failing to appear before the Land Acquisition Officer and remaining silent thereafter.
