CCPA Imposes Rs.1 Lakh Penalty on SpiceJet Over Dark Patterns Used for Loyalty Programme Consent - (16 Jul 2026)

Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) fined SpiceJet Rs.1 lakh for using pre-ticked checkboxes to secure consumer consent for its loyalty programme and promotional messages, holding that the practice undermined consumer choice and violated the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
