SC: Section 68 of Evidence Act Does Not Require Attesting Witnesses to Prove Registered Sale Deeds - (15 Jul 2026)

LAW OF EVIDENCE

Supreme Court held that a registered sale deed need not be proved through an attesting witness under the proviso to Section 68 of the Indian Evidence Act, 1872, as a sale deed is not a document that the law requires to be compulsorily attested.
