Supreme Court Orders Merged Bank's Eviction For Transferring Tenancy Without Landlord's Consent - (10 Jul 2026)

TENANCY

SC held that a tenant bank's amalgamation with another bank amounts to a transfer of tenancy. It restored Punjab National Bank's eviction, ruling that Hindustan Commercial Bank's tenancy was transferred without the landlord's written consent, attracting eviction under the Delhi Rent Control Act.
