Supreme Court: Advocate Cannot Enter a Compromise Without the Client’s Authorisation - (02 Jul 2026)

CIVIL

Supreme Court held that an advocate cannot enter into a compromise on behalf of a client without express authorisation. It further stated that under Order XXIII Rule 3 CPC, a valid compromise decree requires a settlement signed by all parties to the dispute.
