Calcutta High Court: State Must Protect Every Accused From Mob Violence - (02 Jul 2026)

CIVIL

Calcutta High Court directed the West Bengal DGP to issue statewide guidelines to prevent egg-throwing, mob violence and lynching of accused persons. The Court held that every accused is entitled to dignity, protection and constitutional safeguards.
