Madras High Court: Honour Killing is a Shameful Act and an Extreme Manifestation of Casteism - (15 Jun 2026)

While hearing a bail plea in the Kavin honour killing case, the Madras High Court expressed concern over rising caste-based violence in Tamil Nadu, noting 59 honour killings in the past decade and observing that deep-rooted casteism continues to undermine society and its institutions.
