Supreme Court: Co-Heir Cannot Sell Other Heirs' Shares as Karta After Intestate Succession - (02 Jun 2026)

PROPERTY

Supreme Court held that heirs inheriting property through intestate succession under the Hindu Succession Act hold definite shares as tenants-in-common, not as a joint family. Therefore, no co-heir can act as karta or transfer the shares of other heirs.
