Supreme Court: ECI Can Examine Citizenship For Electoral Rolls, But its Ruling is Not Final - (28 May 2026)

ELECTION

Supreme Court held that the Election Commission can conduct a limited inquiry into a person’s citizenship to decide eligibility for inclusion in electoral rolls, but clarified that such findings are not final or conclusive determinations of citizenship status.
