Allahabad HC: Life Imprisonment in Dowry Death Cases is Not Automatic, Reserved For Rarest Cases - (27 May 2026)

CRIMINAL

Allahabad High Court held that life imprisonment for dowry death under Section 304-B IPC should not be imposed as a matter of course, and that this extreme punishment is warranted only in the rarest of rare cases depending on the facts and circumstances of each case.
