Raj HC Initiates Suo Motu Cognizance Over Severe Water Crisis in Jodhpur, Issues Interim Directions - (22 May 2026)

ENVIRONMENT

Rajasthan High Court has taken suo motu cognizance of the acute water crisis in Jodhpur, noting neglect of traditional water bodies and harvesting systems, poor implementation of rainwater harvesting and groundwater recharge laws, and the deteriorating condition of reservoirs and dams.
