Supreme Court: Co-Owner Can File Eviction Suit as Landlord under Bombay Rent Act - (18 May 2026)

TENANCY

Supreme Court has ruled that a co-owner qualifies as a “landlord” under the Bombay Rent Act, 1947, and can initiate eviction proceedings without having exclusive ownership or a formal partition of the tenanted property.
