SC: Hindu Succession Act 2005 Amendment Does Not Curtail Daughters’ Existing Inheritance Rights - (18 May 2026)

Supreme Court has ruled that the 2005 amendment to the Hindu Succession Act does not affect a daughter’s independent right to inherit her father’s property as a Class I heir in intestate succession, and that partition among sons alone cannot defeat her succession rights.
