SC: Appointing Candidates on Contract Against Advertised Regular Posts is Patently Illegal - (14 May 2026)

SERVICE

SC held that contractual appointments against advertisements for regular posts are illegal and unconstitutional without recorded reasons for differential treatment. It directed IIIT Allahabad to grant regular appointment to an Assistant Professor within four weeks, with continuity of service.
