Supreme Court: Public Figures Must Exercise Caution as Their Words Have Consequences in Society - (30 Apr 2026)

CONSTITUTION

While declining directions on hate speech as beyond its remit, the Supreme Court urged citizens to uphold fraternity, cautioned against divisive remarks, and stressed that individuals and public figures share responsibility for preserving constitutional values, noting words have consequences.
