Supreme Court: Joint Accused Statements are Admissible Only When They Result in Distinct Discoveries - (28 Apr 2026)

LAW OF EVIDENCE

Supreme Court held that joint or simultaneous disclosure statements by accused persons are admissible under Section 27 of the Evidence Act only if they lead to the discovery of distinct and relevant facts linked to the crime.
