SC Upholds Penalty on Bank For Delay in Cheque Presentation under Consumer Protection Act - (16 Apr 2026)

CONSUMER

Supreme Court held that a bank’s failure to present a cheque within its validity period, without reasonable explanation, constitutes deficiency in service under the Consumer Protection Act, making the bank liable for consequences arising from such delay.
