SC: ‘Abandonment of Service is Not Voluntary Retirement’, Denying SBI Clerk Pension Benefits - (10 Apr 2026)

Supreme Court has held that an employee who abandons service shortly before retirement cannot later claim pensionary benefits by treating such absence as voluntary retirement, clarifying that abandonment does not qualify for retirement benefits under service rules.
