Madras HC: Governor Must Follow Cabinet's Advice on Remission Decisions, Regardless of Personal View - (03 Apr 2026)

CONSTITUTION

Madras High Court held that under Article 161, the Governor must follow the State Cabinet's advice on remission and early release of prisoners and cannot independently reject such recommendations.
