J&K&L HC: Pardoned Approver under Section 343 BNSS Need Not Stay in Custody Till Trial Ends - (25 Mar 2026)

CRIMINAL

High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh held that a person pardoned under Section 343 BNSS and examined as an approver cannot be kept in custody until trial ends, as custody is meant to protect the approver and ensure truthful testimony, not to punish them.
