SC: No Vested Right to Appointment For Next Candidate if Selected One Doesn't Join - (24 Mar 2026)

SERVICE

Supreme Court ruled that a candidate has no right to claim appointment from a select list merely because a selected candidate failed to join or complete formalities. Such vacancies must be filled strictly as per recruitment rules, not by extending the same select list.
