Jharkhand HC: Pre-1947 Transfers Exempt from Section 46; 45-Year Delay Blocks Restoration - (23 Mar 2026)

TENANCY

Jharkhand HC quashed orders restoring land under the Chhotanagpur Tenancy Act, ruling that Section 46 does not apply to pre-1947 transfers, restoration after 45 years is barred under Section 71, and titles via registered patta, civil decree, or final record-of-rights cannot be challenged belatedly.
