Supreme Court: Earning Interest on a Bank Deposit Does Not Make it a Commercial Purpose - (20 Mar 2026)

CONSUMER

Supreme Court held that earning interest on bank deposits does not by itself make a transaction “commercial” or exclude one from being a consumer; only deposits directly linked to profit-making, such as leveraging business or credit facilities, qualify as commercial use.
