J&K&L HC: Preventive Detention under PITNDPS is Valid Only For Activities Defined as Illicit Traffic - (09 Mar 2026)

Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court held that preventive detention under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1988 can be ordered only if the detenue’s alleged activities fall within the Act’s statutory definition of “illicit traffic.”
