Chhattisgarh HC: Scheduled Tribe Persons Can Voluntarily Choose to be Governed by Hindu Marriage Act - (06 Mar 2026)

Chhattisgarh HC held that a Scheduled Tribe person who voluntarily adopts Hindu customs and traditions and submits to the jurisdiction of courts under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 cannot be denied its protection merely because Section 2(2) excludes the Act’s automatic application to ST communities.
